The first stumbling blocks overseas

Has “we want to go global”
stalled at “but how?”

01

Not sure which country fits

Market size alone can’t tell you whether a market suits your product.

02

No local partners

Without connections to buyers or experts, it’s hard to know whom to ask first.

03

Wary of investing up front

You want to confirm sales potential and costs before setting up a company or office.

For companies looking to grow overseas sales: food, agricultural and regional products, manufacturing, beauty, uniquely Japanese services, and more.

Overseas market testing

Not just sales:
insight for your next decision.

Through live commerce (selling products via live video streams) and overseas online sales, we see how customers actually respond.

Will they buy at that price?Who is buying? Is there profit after shipping and duties? Will it lead to repeat or ongoing sales?

The method is chosen after reviewing your product’s characteristics, each country’s regulations, and the terms of the sales platforms used.

GO / Move forward

Expand the opportunity

Once response and profit are confirmed, we look at ongoing sales and more sales channels.

IMPROVE / Refine

Adjust and test again

We revisit pricing, packaging, messaging, and sales methods, then retest.

NO GO / Step back

Don’t rush to invest

We consider other markets or rethink the product, and hold off on major investment.

Separate roles, connected support.

The right support for where you are now.

You don’t need every contract from day one.

FAQ

Things to know
before you start.

Can we use GOA without any overseas experience?

If you have a product or service you’d like to sell overseas, you can start by clarifying your goals, candidate countries, and challenges. We’ll explain the support available after reviewing your business and products.

Do we need to set up an overseas company first?

Not necessarily. Based on the results of market checks and test sales, a local entity or office is considered only if needed. The required procedures depend on how you sell.

Do membership fees include test sales or inspection tours?

The GOA Holdings membership fee covers basic support. Individual hands-on projects such as market research, test sales, and overseas inspection tours are generally quoted separately. You will review the scope and costs before anything begins.

Do we have to join every GOA organization?

No. You choose only the services you need for your stage. Each entity has its own role and contract.

Will test sales guarantee that our product sells?

We do not guarantee sales or profit. Test sales help you check customer response, pricing, logistics costs, and more, so you have the information to decide on your next investment.
